Secure media coverage for a service with publicity-shy clientele
Renaissance Malibu

Goal:
Renaissance Malibu is a chemical dependency treatment center providing rehabilitation program services to a highly-specialized target market: celebrities, Fortune 1000 executives and members of international royal families.  The organization wished to achieve wider recognition for the quality of its care and discretion in treating its patients.  It retained Stephenson Group to create a public relations program in support of this goal.

Solution:
Stephenson Group had the challenge of generating coverage with an organization that built its success on shielding its exclusive clientele from publicity.  Stephenson Group created a campaign that emphasized RM’s treatment expertise, and created a thought leadership program that allowed the director to comment on celebrity rehabilitation issues. 

Results:
Within one year, Stephenson Group had coverage in all key targeted general news, business and entertainment outlets, including:  CNBC, Copley Newswire, Entertainment Tonight, E! News and others.  In addition, Stephenson Group negotiated with a celebrity patient to be featured in an hour-long national TV case study showcasing the treatment and facility.  The coverage helped secure RM’s position as a leading rehabilitation resource in an exclusive market segment, and generated numerous new business referrals.
