Attracting investor capital through targeted communications 1View Network
Goal: To establish 1View Network as a leader in electronic account aggregation and IFX/OFX technology and to improve opportunities for VC funding, a public offering, or acquisition by an established Internet player.
Approach: 1View Network (1VN) was developing "killer app" solutions for online bill consolidation and account aggregation and needed to strengthen the marketing for the company's existing bill consolidation solution, and to attract capital to complete its flagship "personal financial dashboard" for account aggregation.
Stephenson Group (SG) immediately arranged a series of meetings for CEO Mike Lanza with top industry analysts and editors at the most influential trade and general business publications, including Mainspring, Forrester, and BusinessWeek. SG also instituted a steady stream of communications with the press to win mindshare. This ongoing communications program included news releases, case studies, bylined articles, proactive story pitches, speaking opportunities, and continuous review of editorial calendar opportunities.
Results: In less than three months, 1VN became a regular source for articles about electronic account aggregation and a popular target of invitations from event organizers. Between March and June 2000, 1VN was featured in American Banker twice, as well as in Bank Marketing, Microbanker, CardWeb, dBusiness.com, Graphic Communications, Internet Product Watch, and Silicon Investor. SG secured speaking engagements for 1VN executives at Telestrategies Billing 2000, IQPC's ePayments Conference, ACB's Annual Convention, and BAI's Retail Delivery Conference 2000.
In June 2000 Digital Insight acquired 1VN in a cash-and-stock deal valued at $56.3 million.
