American Academy of Pediatrics
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), a not-for-profit corporation, was founded in 1930 by 35 Pediatricians in response to the lack of an independent pediatric forum to address children's needs. AAP's members dedicate their efforts and resources to the health, safety and well-being of infants, children, adolescents and young adults. The AAP has approximately 55,000 members in the United States, Canada and Latin America, consisting of pediatricians, pediatric medical subspecialists and pediatric surgical specialists.
